System 3000
1972

The System 3000, a 40W amplifier produced in a fetching shade of matt black, was Sinclair's followup to the modestly successful System 2000 amplifier developed four years earlier. It offered two-channel 17 watts RMS performance and an advanced anti-distortion feature called "phase lock loop discrimination," which allowed Sinclair to claim to that the amplifier offered "a performance which is matched by the products of only two or three other companies in the world and by none at less than twice the price."
